There are many obstacles that motorcyclists in California and across the country face. In addition to being aware of road conditions that would not phase drivers of more traditional vehicles, the smaller size of motorcycles can make them more difficult to see if other drivers are not vigilant. Unfortunately, investigators are still working to determine the exact cause of a recent fatal accident involving a motorcycle.
Reports indicate that the accident happened at approximately 11:30 a.m. on a day in late July. When rescue workers arrived at the scene, they reportedly discovered a 28-year-old male motorcyclist lying in the road. Though treatment began at the scene, the man passed away after being transported to a trauma center.
Police claim that they ultimately determined that a 58-year-old woman was attempting to make a left turn out of a parking lot. Unfortunately, as she crossed the northbound lanes to travel south, the motorcyclist reportedly struck her sedan. She is said to have remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement officials. Police are asking anyone with information about the collision to contact them.
No motorcyclist departs an area thinking that this will be his or her last ride. However, the reality is that because of the smaller size of their vehicles, they could easily fall victim to the negligent acts of drivers of larger motor vehicles. Because of this fatal accident in California, a family is now left grieving the death of a loved one. In addition to their grief, many people who lose a loved one in such a manner also face financial complications, often prompting them to file a wrongful death lawsuit if it is believed that negligence was a factor.
